    Hello Dr. Clark,
I’d like to thank you for sharing all and I do mean all the information you put out there on the internet. It’s been a great resource for myself and many of my friends who have all done at least one if not two rounds of HCG already with lots of success. I’ve just recently purchased your wife’s book to use when I get to P3 and after. I am a little confused about dairy products and hope you can help. Full fat milks/yogurts have more fat but less sugars/carbs. 2% or 0% milks/yogurts have way more sugar/carbs but a lot less fat. What’s better for our systems? less fat or less sugar? I’ve been reading all sorts of advice and the one that I’m leaning towards is eating full fat dairy products but less of them, like 1/2 cup of full fat greek yogurt vs. cup of 2%. What do you think?
    Thanks for your time,

  3. by Dr. Dennis Clark

Hi, Maureen…Definitely err on the side of more fat and less carbohydrate. For some reason (not carb alone), dairy products are too insulinemic (raise insulin), which is the real culprit. Just read the labels to determine how much carb you get. Lactose is milk sugar and is listed under ‘sugars’ on the label. I’m with you on eating less of dairy, if only because I am lactose-intolerant! Oh, for the days of ice cream!

    All the best,

    Hi Dr. Clark.
I want to do a 2nd round of hcg. I have been off of the first round for 7 weeks. My question is, do I have to do the 3 days of loading on the 2nd round?

  7. by Dr. Dennis Clark

Yes, you must do the entire protocol just like before.

    Dear Dr. Clark,

I purchased your HCG and supplements and just finished phase 2 Round 1. Do I have to have 3 weeks or 6 weeks of Phase 3? I have lost 28 lb and I need another 15 to get to my goal.

    Thanks you,

  9. by Dr. Dennis Clark

    Hi, Mary:

Great question that you must be clear about. Phase 3 is three weeks long, which is part of the 6-week period between protocols.

    All the best,

Question: Can I resume using skin lotions and restart my supplements (including fish oil) during hcg phase 3

  14. by Dr. Dennis Clark

    Oh, yes. Definitely.

  15. by Linda

    Dear Dr. Clark,
Thank you so much!!! I have searched and wasn’t able to get clear information, only what that you should not do this during VLCD. Since Phase 3 is so critical, was hesitant to do so until I received confirmation.

Hi Dr.Clark, I am on P3 and I bought your ebook. I have been told that I can use whip cream and coconut milk but I have not seen these ingredients on your ebook. Please can you clear my mind? I also just ordered your drops, thank you for all you help us.

  17. by Dr. Dennis Clark

Whipped cream and coconut milk are loaded with sugar. Avoid them during P3.

Hi. I’m at P3 and I have messed up for the 1st 3 days and have gained 6 pounds
My question is, should or can I do a all apple day or steak day to try to drop the weight to get back to where I was when I finished P 2?
Also, should I just start P 3 now or am I doomed? Will I just half to restate P 1 I’n 6 weeks?
Please help. I’m so mad at my self. Also, we are not aloud to have coconut creamer for coffee I’n P3?

  19. by Dr. Dennis Clark

Kristine: Yes, get in a steak day ASAP. Do another every other day if necessary. You just have to get rid of all the excess fluid that you have accumulated.

  20. by Kristine

Thanks. Yes I did the steak and tomatoe the other day and yesterday started
The two days of the 500 calories yesterday. I’m happy to say that my weight is back down to what it was when I stopped the HCG. I’m so happy!!
Tomorrow will be my 1st day of phase 3. I’m still not sure how Manu calories I’m supposed to have for the next three weeks. Any suggestions?

Can we have coconut creamer ?????

Hi Dr. Clark, I did a total of 53 days of the HCG drops (which I know is not recommended since 46 days is the maximum-my mistake). On Day 21 of the FIRST 3 weeks of Maintenance, I attended 3 parties and gorged myself, causing me to be 8 pounds over my Last Day Weight.

On Days 1-12 of the SECOND 3 weeks of Maintenance, I binged every other day (gaining 5 pounds each binge) and did a steak day every other day (losing 2-4 pounds after each steak day). Thanksgiving Day fell on Day 12 of the second 3 weeks of Maintenance and I again gorged myself, still 8 pounds over my Last Day Weight.

In desperation and panic, I started taking the HCG drops again the day after Thanksgiving (Friday, November 23) – Day 13 of my second 3 weeks of Maintenance (instead of waiting the full 6 weeks, I only waited 4 1/2 weeks, which I know is also not recommended). I have been taking the drops for a total of 5 days now and have lost the extra 8 pounds (I am only 0.4 ounces above my Last Day Weight).

At this point, I do not want to complete the full round of 26 days on the drops and do another 6 weeks of maintenance. I realize my body is very confused at this point. I would just like to go to Phase 4, as I was scheduled to do (if I hadn’t started taking the drops again).

My question is: Can I just stop taking the drops after taking them for only 5 days? If so, will this affect my weight loss in future HCG rounds and will I develop immunity sooner? I am already at my weight loss goal at this point, but am pretty sure I will have to do another round in the future because I foresee myself gaining weight due to my binging issues. I also noticed that although I am pretty much at my Last Day Weight, my pants and clothes do fit tighter and I have gained in inches.

Again, I know my body is probably very confused at this point. Please advise. Many thanks, Dr. Clark!

    Hi, Tracy:

Yes, you probably have confused your hormone signaling system. The best strategy at this point might be to just go ultra-low on carbs until your next round of hCG. Your up and down swings are mostly fluid retention in the short term. You certainly don’t want to keep the extra weight so long that it becomes storage fat. The binge cycle that you are on is never going to be good for you, regardless of how fast you can return to your target weight.

    All the best,

I am doing the HGC diet together with my friend. We are now entering the 3rd week. Both of us lost in total 17.5 lbs since we started, however other friends who did it recently lost somehow a lot more. Is this considered little? we are doing the 26 days int total. In the last week I lost in average 0.7lbs daily and still in PT. When i did the apple day I only lost 1.4lbs.
The first week I lost in total almost 12lbs. Is it normal that it slows down that much in the 2&3rd week? I got my menstruation also in between (3 weeks to early).
also both me & my friend want to re-start the HGC diet. I read in previous notes that you have to wait 3 more weeks after the maintenance. we have the homeopathic HCG drops and wanted to check if that rule of waiting 6 weeks from when we stop to take the drop also applies.
would be great if you could answer me. tku!

  25. by Dr. Dennis Clark

Jany…Great progress, congratulations. The rate of loss varies a lot, especially between men and women. Sometimes you will hit slow periods, and your menstrual cycle can be a factor. What you have discovered is all normal. Regarding the homeopathic drops, the rules of the hCG diet are unknown. Dr. Simeons did not work with homeopathic hCG.

  26. by Jany

Dear Dr. Clark, thank you very much for your answer and this is good to know! we ended the first phase with a los of 9 kgs and now during maintenance we lost in total to 10kg which is not bad!
However Christmas was a killer… I gained in 3-4 days 1kg. I cut back on the sugar & too much food and its slowly going down again. Or should I just do a stake day?

  27. by Dr. Dennis Clark

Jany…A steak day will certainly be helpful. Quick weight gain from too much sugar or carb is mostly due to fluid retention, and the steak and apple day helps to reduce that. Good luck!

    All the best,

Hi, I am using homeopathic HCG, phase 2 almost done, I have read many about the difference between “real” and homeopathic HCG. They say real HCG makes you burn 1500-3000 cal a day of abnormal fat plus 500cals of the VLCD, in total you are consuming around 3500cal a day, homepathic does not, according with some forums, you loss weigh because of the VLCD and hunger and cravings are stopped by vitamine B12 and placebo effect. So when I start eating 1200-1500 instead of 500, of course I will gain all the weight back, is that truth??

  29. by Dr. Dennis Clark

    Hi, Liz:

Great questions. First off, nobody knows what homeopathic hCG does, so all the discussion on forums is just so much hot air. If you lose weight on homeopathic hCG, it is likely that the loss is due to starvation. Starvation is not placebo. If your body fat composition drops, that is another thing entirely. However, you have to keep track from beginning to end to know. Finally, whether you gain your weight back depends on what you eat, not so much on the number of calories. You have to eat enough to meet your metabolic requirements, although you won’t necessarily gain weight when doing. I hope this was some good ‘food’ for thought for you.

    All the best,
