Hi, Jackie...Yes, it is because the fatty stuff in eggs is all in the yolk. That is the food category (i.e., fat) that you must avoid or keep to a very low amount during the protocol. A little won't hurt, so you can have one yolk at a time with whites from other eggs. Enjoy the ONE!

All the best,
Dennis

Could you please tell me why you have to mix so many egg whites into an egg on the hcg diet, I have been filling the protein protocol and have lost over 3kg in 5 days which I am very pleased about, but I miss my eggs, can I have them fôr breakfast and still have protein for lunch and dinner, thankyou

Egg white protein would be great. You can also find rice protein. The standard meal using eggs while on the protocol is one yolk with the whites of 4 eggs. That should give you a good idea of how much to take in per meal.

Yes, the ban on mixing vegetables always puzzled me, too. I experimented with mixing without any trouble whatsoever. Just be sure to stick to the allowed veggies.

I prefer a mostly vegetarian diet, but I note that the HCG diet says "don't mix vegetables" I wonder what the problem is with mixing vegetables for instance in a salad - lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers.
Also, if I replaced a meal with a Green Smoothie containing greens and fruits, would this be a problem?
Thank you!
